Compact, elegant, and full of character, this reference is a great example of why the Big Crown Pointer Date has remained one of Oris’ most enduring signatures. The stainless steel case measures a versatile 32mm, with a lug-to-lug of approximately 39–40mm, making it an excellent unisex size that wears comfortably on a wide range of wrists. The proportions are balanced and understated, while the signature coin-edge. The oversized crown is not just a design cue, but a practical nod to Oris’ pilot-watch heritage. The dial is where this watch truly shines. Featuring a classic guilloché pattern and clear Arabic numerals, it offers excellent legibility while maintaining a refined, old-world aesthetic. The signature central pointer date hand, finished with a red tip, sweeps the outer chapter ring to indicate the date—a complication that is both functional and visually engaging, and unmistakably Oris. Luminous hands and markers ensure usability in low-light conditions without compromising the vintage feel. Powering the watch is an automatic Oris movement, most commonly the Caliber 574 (based on ETA 2688) known for their reliability and ease of servicing.
