Hi all,

Up for sale is a lovely vintage Omega Seamaster from 1958, reference 2846, powered by the automatic Caliber 501. What makes this piece special is the large hippocampus logo on the caseback—Omega only used this version for a short time in 1958, so it’s much less common than the usual smaller logo.

The watch is in overall good shape and runs great after a fresh service in May 2025. Timegrapher result video.

The dial is original and looks nice for its age—clean and legible with great vintage character. The case has some light scratches from normal use over the years, and while it might’ve been polished lightly in the past, the lugs still keep their original shape and edges. It still has the original Omega clover crown, which is period-correct for this model. The Plexiglas is also original and has the Omega logo at the center.

The watch is paired with an aftermarket strap and buckle, comfortable and ready to wear. Everything else is original.

I’ve included lots of pictures so you can see the condition clearly—what you see is exactly what you’ll get.
