Purchased back in September 2016 from Skywatches Singapore A design that sheds light on the 6159 from the late 60s, the OG MM300 was introduced with the SBDX001 during the early 2000s. This SBDX017 is a perfect example of high end dive watches by Seiko boasting the Diashield coating maximising legibility under almost all conditions. The beautifully executed ceramic bezel with the lacquered inserts make this model play with you in all sort of lighting conditions. Due to a monocoque case design, the helium escapement valve tends to be eliminated. Even though the diving rating is mentioned at 300m on this, I suppose you can squeeze another 150-200m out of it by going a little more deeper. This example listed today comes with the factory bracelet with enough links supporting wrists up to 9.5 inches The overall condition of the case and bracelet is as close to new as it can get and has never been polished The timekeeping is at par with COSC standards and the power reserve is up to almost 50 hours The size is measured at 44mm but for some odd reason it doesn’t feel that big even on mediocre sized wrists and is super comfortable to wear, almost hugging the wrist. The outer box has been in storage for the longest time due to which it has started to flake a little.
