Good afternoon, WatchEx! Just one tonight: the perfectly neo-vintage Nivada Grenchen F77 Automatic in full Ceramic (no date version.) Nivada Grenchen's recent revival has lead to some really great releases over the last few years, but for my money, none come close to the F77. Genta design language, a very comfortable bracelet, cleanly textured dials - it's all there. I picked up this full Ceramic version (new for 2025) after having my yearly itch for a Black Bay Ceramic, and honestly, this has sated it entirely. Listing to see what's out there, but I would happily hang on to this. Nivada is following the recent trend of comprising an entire watch body out of highly durable and scratch resistant ceramic - an awesome evolution for the recent integrated bracelet craze. The dial is their "braided black" version, which has a subtle carbon fiber appearance that reacts in a very cool way to natural light. I like that they went with polished silver hour markers and rehaut, as it keeps the stealth vibes alive without losing legibility. Watches with integrated bracelets have been white-hot over the last few years, and it's great to have the F77 in the mix for a bit of 70's/80's vibes. From an overall quality perspective, this is right up there with the Christopher Ward Twelve, and still miles ahead of the Tissot PRX (the integrated bracelet design that everyone seems to use as a baseline.) The F77 comes in a bit smaller on paper at 37mm, but it really doesn't wear much smaller than the 40mm CW12 or Tissot PRX Powermatic. I'd say this is perfect for wrists between 6"-7.5", but there's no reason this wouldn't look good on larger wrists too. The vintage vibes make this an extremely versatile piece.
