Enicar chronographs are already on a very high collectible level. Besides being superbly well built, they had original designs, and are historically important. Enicar’s connection with well-known racing personalities, like Jim Clark, is very well documented. In my opinion, it’s one of the most important brands from the last century and with a fabulous heritage. This Aqua Graph chronograph it’s a highly sought after and rare chronograph on its own, but what I have on offer is on a different level – unicorn level, may I add. A blue dial Aqua Graph is the stuff of legends. Some people have seen one, others have heard of its existence, but to actually have one and offer it for sale is something that happens once every decade, if you’re lucky! I only ever saw pictures of another one. This is an MK IV version, which was launched in March 1968. The inside of the caseback on this one has 8-69 engraved, meaning it was likely made in 1969. The numbers are very faded but I can read the reference 072-02-02A and serial number 1.317.xxx. Crosshatched crown, original bezel, red aluminum ring with some wear, Valjoux 72 – what’s not to love about this? The bezel also rotates well and the movement is very clean.
