Good evening, WatchEx! Two or three to list tonight, starting with this: The Seiko SPB411 Limited Edition. I get comments/messages all of the time about the watches I list - mainly that people appreciate that I don't list the same stuff you see every day on here, and that I'm somewhat of a champion of the obscure-yet-quality stuff. With something of a reputation built up, I honestly kinda feel dirty any time I list a Seiko (or Tag, which is next.) This Seiko is different, to me at least. The newly released SPB411 is a reissue of a classic Seiko from 1968, faithfully built to today's standards - up upscaled ever so slightly. I've always had an appreciation for Seiko, but most of their models don't speak to me...save for my trusty SNK that I bought years ago as my very first automatic watch. I could talk about the SNK for days, but that's not why you're here. The vintage aesthetic here is purely genuine - I love a good throwback model. Any time a steel bezel can be paired with a grey dial with a splash of red, I'm automatically interested. This is a "limited edition" really only in Seiko's sense - there are 4,000 built. That may seem awfully not limited, but with Seiko's brand prestige worldwide, it is somewhat scarce for the number of watches they churn out. It wears like a dream, goes with everything, and is sure to scratch that vintage itch without having to buy a POS with an oxidized dial. Genuinely my favorite Seiko release of the last few years.
