I’m selling my Seiko Alpinist SBDC087. Cosmetically the watch is in excellent condition however it does need to be serviced. Please READ carefully: The watch is in need of a service/repair. The watch has very low amplitude and loses between 20-30 SPD. I’ve also noticed that you need to flick the watch to get it running again if it fully winds down. I’m not a watchmaker so I’m not sure how much the repair will cost. This watch comes as is with no returns so please be aware if you purchase it. It comes as a complete set and the OEM bracelet can be sourced for no less than $180. Because of the mechanical issues I’m selling this watch for $200 USD which basically covers my shipping costs on top of getting the bracelet for the remainder of the price. If you’re a watchmaker and can repair it yourself this is a great deal. To get it serviced I was quoted about $150-$200. I accept PayPal Friends & Family, Venmo, and Zelle. I will ship the watch to CONUS via USPS Priority Mail. The watch comes as a complete set and was purchased from Gnomon watches in November 2021. The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house. This includes not only major items such as microgears, motors, hands, crystal oscillators, batteries, sensors, LCDs but also minor items such as the oils used in lubricating the watches and the luminous compounds used on the hands and the dials.
