For sale today is my Grand Seiko 6146 8010 "arabesque." Named after the flowery pattern of the logo around the Grand Seiko logo, the 6146 8010 is a high end model within the 61gs line introduced in late 1969 and quickly discontinued after the introduction of the 61gs specials. With a production run of less than 2 years, the 6146 8010 is an exceedingly rare reference within the regular GS lineup. The 6146 8010 is around 50% more expensive than the regular 6146 8000 reference and it features a hardened stainless steel case and a faceted sapphire crystal. The case geometry is slightly altered, but it still remains the classic 61gs case shape. This particular example is in overall decent shape. The dial has some damage around the edge and a few small scratches. The crystal has some small chips around the edge and a few faint scratches, but nothing major to note. I don't believe the case has been refinished before as the case lines remained rather sharp and the surfaces remained flat; however, there are scratches and dings throughout. Mechanically this piece is in excellent shape. The watch was serviced around 2 years ago and keeps excellent time with great amplitude. I consider this piece the crown jewel of my collection, but I'm recently undergoing some changes to my collection so it has to go. I am offering an additional lifetime service warranty to the original purchaser of this piece.
