I am offering for sale a vintage piece built by the venerable manufacture Favre-Leuba. (Indeed, the brand’s origins reach back to 1737 in Le Locle, Switzerland, making Favre-Leuba the second oldest watch brand in the world after Blancpain (since 1735) and a good 100 years older than e.g. Patek Philippe.)

The model at hand is the Harpoon 77 with the automatic calibre FL 1134. The watch comes in a typical angular brushed stainless steel case with polished bevels, which, due to its shape, is more prominent on the wrist than its pure dimensions would suggest.

The polished case bevels have obviously been gently polished by the previous owner in the past, but the original case finish with vertical brushing on the front and sides is clearly recognisable. The luminous material is completely intact and still reacts when exposed to UV light and the second hand has a pretty splash of colour at the tip. The original crown is signed, the day of the week (Spanish) and date change correctly at midnight, and the date can also be quickly adjusted by pushing firmly the crown. All the embossing on the case back is clear and sharp.

The dial has two different champagne-coloured finishes, with the inner part being vertically brushed. Solid block indices and the applied brand logo are mounted on it. The plexiglass is in very good condition.

The watch has just undergone a complete movement service and is therefore ready for immediate use without hesitation.

Here’s summed up the main parameters:
-) Size: approx. 35mm wide without crown, 37.5mm wide incl. crown
-) Lug-to-lug: approx. 39mm
-) Height: approx. 12mm
-) Lug width: 21mm
-) Movement: FL 1134, freshly and completely overhauled
-) Crystal: acrylic

The watch is being sold with a new (unworn) and matching light brown leather strap with champagne-coloured stitching nicely matching the dial. It tapers from 21mm at the lugs to 18mm at the buckle.

Due to the good condition and the recent service, I am asking a price of EUR 450,-, plus international insured shipping according to destination.

I am selling this watch as a private collector. Therefore, it comes without any guarantee. However, I am offering to give a full refund less shipping expenses in case the watch would not be as described by me.

Eventually, here are the pictures:

The watch is located in Austria (EU) and so am I. I do have plenty of international references from various watch enthusiasts (also known here), so please feel free to ask for them.

Just for the records: I am a private collector and, therefore, the watch comes without any personal guarantee given by me. Nevertheless, I am offering to give a full refund less fully insured shipping expenses in case the piece sold would not be as described by me (within an inspection period of three days and to buyers from within the EU only due to the complex customs procedure in case of an overseas deal).

Thanks for reading and thanks to the Chronotrader platform and its host!

Kind regards,
F.Antl
