**See Imgur for video** **The Watch:** This example is a beautiful mid-1990s sports chronometer from VC, the rarely seen Phidias Chronomètre Royal. This was an offering that reprofiled the Phidias to be sportier and adjusted it so that it could claim the “Chronomètre Royal” distinction, a title dating back to the early 20th century used on the most precise and thoroughly regulated Vacheron Constantine timepieces. It’s 35mm, though wears a bit larger, and a very slim 8.6 mm. There’s a lot to love about the 90’s styling: the refined level of two-tone, the way the guilloche waves of the dial echo the coin edges of the bezel and crown guards, the bracelet that really wears like a bracelet. And this one comes as a full kit with its 1996 papers. If you want a piece of high horological sports watch history, this is the one.
