Using one of Seiko’s s very well advertised and known “Hi-Beat” movement (28800 bph), resulting in silky smooth sweep, especially when you consider the watch is almost 30 years old. The movement has been regulated to an average of +7 seconds per day across three main positions. * *Alpinist*. The Alpinist series started in the 1960s with the release of the Seiko “Lauren” Alpinist. Designed to be used as an outdoor watch by Japanese mountain climbers, it is perhaps more well known to modern collectors as the series that contains the SARB017. All Alpinists are released as part of Seiko’s “Prospex” (professional specifications) line, as they are built to be rugged and regularly worn. * *Rotating Bezel*. Now a feature of all Alpinists, it can be used to determine your bearings if you can currently see the Sun. Works very smoothly, with no binding/sticking and absolutely no loss of colour due to aging. * *Bracelet*. The full and original bracelet, able to accommodate up to a 7 inch (18cm) wrist. **Condition**: The watch is in great condition overall. No obvious visible scratches on the dial or crystal or front of the watch. There is a loupe magnification type scratch on the crystal between the 12 and 1 o’clock. The case back shows minor signs of the bracelet marking it, but it’s very light overall. Bracelet is very good overall, and any abrasions are shallow.
