The two tone feature, paired with the quintessential triple calendar dial layout, makes this watch a unique model from Universal Geneve. The intricately patterned hobnail bezel accentuates the piece. Formed in 18k yellow gold, it highlights the dial with an added sense of complexity, which in turn creates a delicate interplay between warm and mellow tones. Despite four complications on display, the dial layout is designed with symmetry in mind. The recessed apeature at 10 o’clock shows the day, giving depth to the navy blue sunburst dial. Similarly, the month indicator is placed at 2 o’clock. The stunning moon-phase is found at the 6 o’clock subdial which also shows the small seconds. The date is printed along the border of the dial, adjacent to the applied Roman indices which are highly polished, ensuring easy legibility. At a 31mm diameter, the stainless steel case is considered small by modern standards, although allowing the watch to reflect its vintage feel. The polished straight lugs add further presence to the piece. This Universal Geneve Triple Calendar is paired with a brown Teju lizard leather strap by Hirsch that highlights the beautifully lined scale pattern.
