The G-Shock MR-G brand started when Kikuo Ibe formed a team of volunteer Casio engineers to make an "unbreakable metal watch", a watch they themselves truely wanted. They came up with several unique design features. These have unique bezel gaskets and, uncommon among G-Shocks, double domed mineral crystals. These early MRG's have such a unique design language and you can tell the team had started with a blank slate. These early watches were also offered in stainless steel and titanium versions which were identical outside of the material. This particular watch is titanium and in good condition as the titanium models tend to get deep nicks and scratches more easily though obviously weigh less. The case back cushion is also in good condition. The crystal has some small scratches which can be seen in the pictures. It has a fresh battery and is working perfectly including EL backlight and alarm. The only thing I've noticed is that there's a plate missing that typically goes between the case back cushion and case back. I believe this keeps the case back from rubbing on the cushion but the watch works perfectly without it.
