For sale is a very clean Seiko Chronograph Quartz 7A38-7190, the day/date version of the 7A28 reference- considered by many to be one of the finest movements made by Seiko. (Recent research has shown that the 7A38, slightly different case that this one, was the white Bond watch worn by roger Moore, not the 7A28)


All original example . This is part of the 7A28 family, considered to be one of the best quartz movements made by Seiko or any brand. These watches were made with metal parts and are designed to be fully serviceable. This beautiful reference has full chronograph functions including day/date. Everything functions as it should. It is in used but excellent overall condition. It is all original and running great.

Dial: Clean white dial with 4 subdials, 3:00 subdial shows tenths of seconds, 6:00 subdial seconds counter, 9:00 subdial 30 min counter. Dial in excellent condition no scratches or marks seen
Hands: All original, excellent condition including subdial hands. Greenish original lume intact and glows well see photo.
Movement: Seiko 7A38 Quartz analog movement, 15 Jewels, fully serviceable, running fine all functions working properly. I can email video of watch chrono in action.
Case: 37 mm diameter, 41.5 mm lug to lug, 11 mm thick, lug width 18 mm. SS case in excellent condition with minimal wear. One horizontal scratch visible on lower left case seen in photos. Stainless steel caseback no scratches. Watch has been well cared for with very little signs of use.
Serial number: 5D0861 indicating delivery date December 1985.
Crown: Setting crown at 8:00, Chrono pushers at 2:00, 4:00 and 10:00. Original, no visible plate wear, all function normally. Can reset chrono stop positions yourself- no need to bring to watchmaker- Nice feature! See youtube link below
Instructions: Upper button starts and stops chronometer second and lower right button reset it after stopping. When crown one-step pulled, the other buttons set start position of chronograph second (big hand), split second (right register) and min. counter (left register). Winding crown ( lower-left) down sets the date (upper register) quickly and winding crown up sets moonphase quickly in one-step pulled position.

Service history: Watch was serviced with battery change before I bought it in 2022. Has worked well since. No detailed service records. Case has not been opened to preserve water resistance.
Bracelet: Original full length integrated Seiko bracelet included. Bracelet show minimal signs of wear with SQ on clasp.
Crystal: Mineral glass, no visible scratches or marks in good condition.
Accesories: No box or papers.
