Hey WatchEx, Up for sale is my gorgeous Seiko SARB013, Unicorn Alpinist. These rarely come up for sale in the US. The SARB013 is a cream dialed Seiko Alpinist that was only produced from 2006 - 2009. The gorgeous flat cream dial is paired with gold markers for a clean, and classic look. The cream version, SARB013, was not a big hit when it first came out, and as a result is exceedingly rare to locate. This watch has just gone through a full service with all gaskets replaced, dialed in the regulation. All work was done by a reputable Seiko dealer. Watch really runs like new, and is gorgeous, completely unpolished. Watch only, with a Seiko box that is not original to the watch, which is pretty normal for a watch this age I think. Comes with original strap and all original links, big enough to fit my 7.5" wrist. The watch wears beautofully on the bracelet, and clocks in at a comfortable ~39 mm. The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house. This includes not only major items such as microgears, motors, hands, crystal oscillators, batteries, sensors, LCDs but also minor items such as the oils used in lubricating the watches and the luminous compounds used on the hands and the dials.
