For sale is a beautiful 18k solid pink gold Omega Constellation ‘De Luxe’ reference 2799 from approximately 1954. I purchased this watch 15 years ago from the original owner. I had it serviced and then it has sat, only being worn once or twice, until I am selling it now.

This example features an O-ring rubber-based gasket between the press-in case-back and the case. It has its original, solid 18k pink gold 'pie-pan' dial. The dial is exceptionally well-preserved, featuring hand-riveted, faceted 18k pink gold indexes for the hour markers. The 18k pink gold Daulphine handset, complements the unique shaping of the gold hour markers perfectly. The Omega emblem and logo are applied, along with the small Constellation star logo at six o’clock. The dial is the showcase of this piece, being in excellent condition as the pictures show.

The case is 18 carat solid pink gold with lyre-shaped lugs. The case-back bears the hand-engraved symbol of Omega’s famous records for precision, the Observatory medal. The bottom of the case back where it is stamped “WATERPROOF” has somewhat faded over the past 70 years, but the case remains in very good condition without deep scratches. On the side of the case adjacent to the 9 o’clock marker there is a very slight dent, almost imperceptible, it’s very hard to show in the pictures.

Equipped with Omega’s bumper self-winding, chronometer certified calibre 354 (adjusted to 5 positions and temperatures), which is running smoothly. The picture I took of the movement is small when it was at the watchmaker’s for service. I don’t have a picture of inside the case back, but I guarantee the case and all parts of the watch are genuine and original.
