I have for sale my Seiko Bellmatic 4006-7001 from December of 1970. I purchased this watch several years ago via eBay. The watch is in decent working order and I’ve included a shot of it on my timegrapher. It’s by no means an extensive look at how the watch runs, but will give you an idea. The alarm function works as it should and the date function is smooth and crisp. However, on these movements, you have to manually advance the day. The bracelet on the watch is not original. This was also purchased via the Bay. The seller stated that it was NOS, but I think it’s likely an AM. Full disclosure, I also filed the endlinks from 19mm to 18mm to fit this watch. The bracelet is very tight on my 8in wrist, but with an extension, fits great. The watch comes with the corresponding vintage Seiko Advertisement seen in the pictures. The watch and the ad will be packaged in a tube to keep them both safe. The watch measures 38.5mm diameter, 43mm lug to lug, and 18mm lug width. As near as I can tell, as well as others who have looked at the watch, it is unpolished and all original. I can say that the watch came to me with the crown tube pulled out of the case. I have repaired the tube using Loctite 638 and have had no issues since. This watch should not be considered water resistant under any circumstances. In addition to the repaired tube, the gaskets have been lubed but not replaced. The crown will feel a little tight when setting the time, but is fine in all other positions.
