Up for sale is my Grand Seiko Hi Beat. This is a fantastic watch with a stunning dial. I believe that this watch is the turning point for Grand Seiko, when they finally got every detail perfect. The dial is rich and deep shining a silvery white in most light. The markers are all perfectly polished and remain visible even in dim light, the case size is perfect at 40mm diameter with a height of 11.7mm. Even the bracelet has been refined from previous generations with a width of 22mm instead of the odd sized versions of models past. The real star of the watch is the movement. Inside is in house caliber 9SA5 with Seiko’s own dual impulse escapement (similar to Omega’s coaxial), a free sprung balance, 80 hours of power reserve, and a true hi-beat of 36000 vibrations per hour. Tech aside, the movement is gorgeous with fine stripping and beautiful anglage throughout. It is on par with watches twice the price. Because I always wear this watch on a strap, as you can see in the photos, the bracelet is in near perfect condition with only a few desk dive swirls. The case maintains the zarastu shine with no marks on the bezel or case. The only thing to note are two marks on the flat side only visible in a specific light. I did my best to get pictures of them.
