Vintage steel 39mm FAVRE LEUBA Deep Blue MK1 automatic diver wristwatch, Ref. 59603, made circa 1960s. Back then Deep Blue was advertised by Favre Leuba as a tool watch an active sportsmen swear by, was targeted to divers, fishermen and water skiers. "Fully automatic action winds itself and advances calendar date. Revolving Time Lapse Bezel tells divers when it's time to surface and refill air tanks".
Powered by automatic Cal. FL 1152, this watch features beautiful grey sunburst 1st execution dial with curved script (note "Ra" for radium), straight lugs steel case with thick bevels and a unidirectional black acrylic bezel graduated to 60 minutes with a luminous triangle at 12 o'clock. This is not a common watch and I can't imagine they made too many back in the day.
Watch is in overall good condition 8/10 with very early serial number, running fine but last service history is unknown.

Working fine. Good condition 80%TZ, minor surface scratches and radium burn on the dial (typical of these models) through the age. Few scratches and patina on the dial. Aged, lovely, minute and hour hands, correct unsigned non screw down crown. The original bracelet is in fantastic condition and I am including a donor bracelet so it will fit a gorilla. No box, no papers.
Over 15 years of references here, ebay, and other major forums. $2350. Not looking for trades on this one.
