For sale is a vintage Seiko Actus with a beautifully done application of the "Woman with Flute" by Japanese artist Kitagawa Utamaro. These ukiyo-e dial watches appear to have originated from Japanese department stores doing custom watches in the late 1960's and early 1970's. He produces these in very low quantities, and this one was completed within the last couple of months. The effect is beautiful and striking, up close his application of the prints is very well done. The watch itself is a Seiko 6106-8000 in excellent condition, dated by serial to November 1970. It comes with a fresh, correct crystal as well as the original bracelet which will fit up to about a 7.5" wrist, and features an English and Kanji day wheel. All movement functions (including the funky 6106 day/date change mechanism) are fully operational. The watch case measures 40.15mm wide, 42.15mm from lug to lug, and is 12.55mm thick with the crystal. Lug width is 19mm.
