Making this rare, unusual and collectible piece available in my plan to shrink the collection. This piece would likely be from the late 1980's to 1990's vintage. Blancpain made a limited run of 333 (reference 3185-1542-53) of these watches with the gold rotors hidden behind the 18k solid gold opening caseback and it does not appear they are being re-created, likely due to the heft of that caseback and it just not making sense to spend that much on the gold. As it is, you get the beauty of a brilliant decorated movement and the protection of a solid caseback and still at 13mm thickness. This is simply a very unique and classy version of the Leman you won't see very often. Google searches revealed only 2 or 3 sightings with the last sale example around $7500 euros.

Some technical details:
The watch features a domed scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has screw down round locking chronograph push buttons, a signed screw down winding crown, and a hinged opening solid Half Hunter case back. "BLANCPAIN" is engraved on the left-side case band, and the 38mm diameter solid three-body case, straight lugs, and stepped rounded bezel, are polished. There is a silver dial with applied faceted rose gold baton hour indices around a perimeter black minute/second chronograph scale, with Arabic numerals every five seconds to 60, and a gold Blancpain "B" at the 12 o'clock position. It includes a trapezoidal date aperture window at 6 o'clock, and three recessed silver subsidiary dials with black Arabic numerals and markers, and gold sword indicator hands, including a 12-hour chronograph totalizer at 9 o'clock, a running small constant seconds register at 6 o'clock, and there is a 30-minute chronograph totalizer at 3 o'clock. It has gold skeletonized hands with luminous hour tips, and a gold center sweep chronograph seconds hand with a red needle tip. It's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet, it has a 42-hour power reserve at full winding, and the 13mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Blancpain Leman Chronograph Half Hunter 3185-1542-53 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Blancpain caliber 1185 movement. It's rhodium plated with fausses cotes embellishment, and it's constructed with 37 jewels, an anti-shock device, a straight line-lever escapement, a monometallic balance that's adjusted to five positions, and a self-compensating flat balance-spring. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz).

Condition and Details:
This watch is in fantastic condition for it's age. There are light swirls/rubs on the case and clasp. On the engraved Blancpain side of the case there are 2 small marks worth mentioning I will try to display in the photos. The crystal is in clean, deficiency free condition. Overall it is just a stunning example of a classic Blancpain with a unique and rare style and moving into the 18k gold precious metals at this price point is almost unheard of for this brand. The watch comes with the Blancpain deployment clasp on an Aaron Bespoke black leather strap. Also included to make this piece extremely versatile are 3 additional straps; a blue leather rally from Strapcode, a brown nubuck leather with quick release spring bars also from Strapcode and a grey stingray on aftermarket deployment clasp purchased from a CWC member here. All looks amazing on the watch and at 20mm lug width you have the world of strap options available. Also included is the original outer cardboard box, the inlaid decorated wood presentation box matching the #12/333 serial number. No additional papers or manuals have come with the watch. I have no knowledge of service history. In my experience with the watch it is keeping excellent time and all items function with ease and as intended.
