Manufacturing of Elgin watches took place at their facility in Elgin, Illinois.* This Elgin pocket watch was manufactured in Elgin, Illinois, and was finished in 1925. The watch is powered by Elgin’s in-house 17 jewel Grade 344 movement, which was produced between 1906-1928. The movement has been restored and custom refinished with vibrant blue accents. The accents were created by thermally treating each movement part by hand to color the iron-based components, and the hands of the watch have been restored using the same thermal treatment process. This is performed using the traditional watchmaker technique, which is completed using an ethanol lamp to heat each component piece by piece individually by hand. The brass jewel casings have been restored to their original golden color, and the black, enamel letting was restored by hand. The Elgin dial is in excellent condition with Arabic Numerals complete with an amazing textured subdial. The watch is cased in a new silver-colored wristwatch conversion case so the watch can be enjoyed on your wrist.
