The Seiko SKX is a legend for a reason, and the perfect first diver or first automatic watch to start one’s addiction.I've taken that legendary platform and modded just about everything to give this one all the hallmarks of the Rolex Polar Explorer II. I've ditched the hardlex crystal and installed a beautiful double-domed sapphire crystal which gives the watch sapphire's scratch-proof durability while also rounding out the watch's profile.I added a coin-edge bezel and steel bezel insert with a red "12" to give the watch a faux-GMT utility and gesture toward the subtle hits of red on the dial and second hand.The dial is a very high quality white Voyager dial from the premium mod part outlet DLW. I've completed the look with a white chapter ring and custom handset. Lastly I replaced the movement with Seiko's hacking and handwinding NH35 automatic movement, and regulated it down to 4 secs/day accuracy (check out that beautiful timegrapher reading in the gallery below!). I've added a signed "S" crown for the new movement as well. With the brand new, upgraded movement, this bad boy should give you no problems for years to come. Condition is quite good as shown in the photos below. The watch is worn, so there is some mild wear along the case, and some light marks from strap changes under the lugs. The bezel is totally clean, and the crystal and bezel insert are brand new and unmarked. As indicated in the gallery below, the movement is regulated to be as accurate as an NH35 can be, and is very healthy. Comes on an Uncle Seiko jubilee bracelet though I would be happy to add in a nice 22mm nato or rubber dive strap for a couple bucks more. No box or papers on this one.
