Lastly, on the chopping block, I think… think I’ve come to terms with parting with my Glycine Airman 18 Purist. It’s a truly exceptional watch. First of all it has heritage as Glycine debuted their GMT in 1953 a year BEFORE Rolex came out with their version. My model sports a “Purist” handset where the time is displayed on a 24-hour scale. Your seconds and minutes hands function like expected but the hour hand rotates one full revolution per day. With the use of a bi-directional bezel, you can track a second timezone. The watch case is 39mm and only about 10mm thick. Moreover, the watch sports 200m of water resistance so it’s as swimmable as a diver. Travel from California to Hawaii and jump in the ocean without worrying about timezone or water tolerances, haha. Watch comes on factory leather but I always wore it on a NATO. I’ve had this watch for years and really don’t want to part with it, but the itch to buy another piece has me making some tough decisions.
