For sale today is a very sharp Tissot PRS 516 in very good condition. Underneath the tonneau case beats a very reliable Tissot 872 movement, aka the Lemania 872. According to my research, this movement (and other Lemania movements from around this time) had been produced with Omega under a joint trade agreement, which may explain Omega’s prevalent use of Lemania-based movements as well. The overall design is reminiscent of many racing-inspired watches from the ‘70s. The watch retains its original crisp brushing, tritium lume, and largely unblemished tachymeter bakelite bezel (most examples show much wear). Scratches on the acrylic crystal can be bluffed out. On the casebook is a stylized engraving of what I presume to be someone’s initials. Timekeeping is good. The watch wears larger than the dimensions might suggest due to its shape; included in the photos is a shot on my 7” wrist.
