FS: Seiko King Quartz 0853-8025, serviced 2021

Hi all,
For sale is my 1977 Seiko King Quartz 0853-8025. I purchased this watch back in 2019 as I was discovering the wonderful world of early(ish) Seiko quartz. In this era, high end quartz watches were priced higher than their mechanical brothers, and had lavished upon them lovely cases, bracelets, and dials. The movements were also well designed, with construction featuring the same jeweled trains and shock protection found in mechanicals of the era. Unfortunately, I have pretty small wrists, causing me to pass over this watch now that I have other interesting (and more wearable) quartz watches in the collection. So it is long past time to find this one a new home!
All components appear to be original. Condition is fair for a watch of this age. The crystal has lots of little scratches. There are various dings and scratches on the case. It also appears that someone polished the case at some point in the past, as the midcase lines are not quite as sharp as they should be. Thankfully, the gorgeous texture of the top side of the case and bracelet is unaffected and still shows beautifully, save for one scratch visible in the photos. Likewise the hands, indices, and beautifully textured dial are in excellent shape, and show no evidence of water ingress. It should be noted that the seconds hand is offset from the hashes, which is vexing to some. Keyless works functions (setting day, date, time, hacking) all work correctly. There is also a special feature where the seconds hand can be paused or advanced by two seconds, in order to correct the watch running a little fast or slow. This is achieved by turning the crown in the fully-in position - clockwise to pause, counterclockwise to advance. This function is likewise working. Service history prior to my ownership is unkown. I had this watch serviced by a local watchmaker in 2021, after noticing that it stopped occasionally. It has run without issue since being serviced. Battery was last changed in January of 2025.
Watch is sold as pictured with the integrated bracelet. Sizing can be adjusted by changing the position of the latch.
