Hello r/watchexchange, I’m offering for sale the Seiko Presage SARD011 Retrograde Day-Date, a Japan Domestic Market (JDM) model that has been discontinued and is now very rare. This is a highly collectible piece that’s becoming increasingly hard to find. Condition Pre-owned but in excellent full set condition, with two additional leather straps included: 1. Genuine Seiko leather strap (lightly used) 2. Brown handmade leather strap (brand new, unused) Case size: 40.5mm Lug width: 20mm Movement: Seiko 6R24B, 31 jewels, 28,800 vph Runs strong and keeps time accurately at approximately –15 to +25seconds/day. Dial, Hands, and Indices All are in excellent condition. The Urushi lacquer enamel dial reflects light beautifully, accented by gold Maki-e hands and a unique double retrograde layout that enhances its refined character. Crystal: Sapphire crystal with inner anti-reflective coating, perfectly clear and scratch-free. Fits wrist sizes between 15–20cm. The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house. This includes not only major items such as microgears, motors, hands, crystal oscillators, batteries, sensors, LCDs but also minor items such as the oils used in lubricating the watches and the luminous compounds used on the hands and the dials.
