Alright watchfam, here’s one for the folks who want complications without needing to sell a kidney. This is the Pierre Paulin jump hour — because apparently “Pierre Paulin” sounds more Swiss than “Merkur Factory,” and branding is half the game. What you get: Jump Hour: That little window at 12 o’clock flips the hour card like a Vegas slot machine. (Okay fine, more like a polite calendar wheel, but still cooler than another three-hander.) Green guilloché dial: The kind of shade that makes you want to order absinthe and talk about philosophy. Small seconds at 6 — so you know it hasn’t died on you. Bracelet: Surprisingly nice multi-row steel thing that looks way pricier than it should. I've never thought they looked like beads or rice, but here we are calling it that for no good reason. Movement: Merkur/Seagull auto, doing solid numbers: +12s/day, 296° amplitude, 0.1ms beat error (see timegrapher pic for receipts). That’s better than some Swiss pieces I’ve seen after “full service.” Condition: Light desk rash on clasp, otherwise sharp. Comes with Merkur box, cloth, papers — the full “Team Merkur” experience. Why this rocks: It’s basically a budget take on jump hours that aren’t $10k+. Will it make strangers think you’re rocking an indie haute horology piece?
