Hi everyone, The early 1970s marked a shift for Omega, as the brand introduced its slimmer, high-beat 1000-series movements. The Seamaster Chronometer Ref. 168.0061 embodies that transition — a robust case design paired with the chronometer-rated Cal. 1011, offering accuracy, reliability, and a sleeker profile than its 1960s predecessors. At 35mm, the unpolished case wears comfortably and the original Omega beads-of-rice bracelet gives it extra wrist presence, making this a versatile choice for both daily wear and collecting. Freshly serviced in July 2025, it’s running strong and ready to enjoy. **Condition** * **Dial:** Original untouched sunburst dial with even aging and honest patina. Hands and markers remain clean and legible. * **Case:** 35mm stainless steel case remains unpolished, with light wear and sharp edges preserved. Seahorse medallion on the caseback is still crisp. * **Crown:** Original signed replacement crown, winds and sets smoothly. * **Movement:** Omega Cal. 1011, chronometer-rated, quick-set date. Fully serviced July 2025. Running within +10s/day, amplitude \~255. All functions work as they should. * **Crystal:** Acrylic crystal in clean condition, free of major scratches. * **Bracelet:** Original Omega beads-of-rice (BOR) bracelet ref. 1036 with No. 11 endlinks.

Founded at La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland in 1848 by 23-year-old Louis Brandt who assembled key-wound precision pocket watches from parts supplied by local craftsmen. He travelled throughout Europe selling his watches from Italy to Scandinavia by way of England, his chief market. After Louis Brandt's death in 1879, his two sons Louis-Paul and Cesar, troubled by irregular deliveries of questionable quality, abandoned the unsatisfactory assembly workshop system in favour of in-house manufacturing and total production control. Due to the greater supply of manpower, communications and energy in Bienne, the enterprise moved into a small factory in January 1880, then bought the entire building in December. Two years later the company moved into a converted spinning-factory in the Gurzelen district of Bienne, where headquarters are still situated today. Their first series-produced calibres, Labrador and Gurzelen, as well as, the famous Omega calibre of 1894, would ensure the brand's marketing success.
