Only made for a few years in the late 60s – very early 70s, this Tudor day-date sits in the sweet spot between a dress watch and a sports watch. A killer vintage everyday watch. It sports a 39mm oyster case with the original Rolex caseback and original Rolex crown. The bi-directional “Turn-O-Graph” rotating bezel is unmistakenly sporty, while the Spanish day and date windows refine the look. The dial is an incredibly clean silver sunburst with a spotless Tudor shield and lightly aged handset. The original Rolex bracelet clasp is fitted to a vintage rivet bracelet, which I believe to be aftermarket (though appears period-correct and matches the watch aesthetically) along with aftermarket end links (also aesthetically matching). A black leather strap can also be included. The watch is overall in very good vintage condition. The case and caseback appear to have been lightly polished in the past, but shows some honest wear as this must have happened many, many years ago. The dial is incredibly well preserved overall. The applied indexes are crisp and free of visible/notable wear. The handset shows some aging and the lume is missing in a few spots, notably on the minute hand. Crystal is very clean, possibly replaced at some point, and does show a very small nick/chip at the 20 – surface level. All functions working well – the watch is keeping time, day and date functions flip over as they should. I had the watch serviced years ago, but prior to that, service history is unknown.
