**Seiko Dolce 6030-5500 Gold Tank / Octagon Watch** **SPECIFICATIONS:** \- Seiko Dolce with excellent condition from April 1982. Classic and elegant style. \- “Dolce” collection (see logo applied at the bottom of the dial) is a sub-brand within the Seiko watch family, focusing on slim, elegant timepieces. The Dolce line is characterized by its minimalist design, lightweight construction, and precise movements. \- Japanese Bambi brown leather strap. Fit up to 18.5cm wrist. \- Stainless steel case with 30 micron thickness of gold plating (30 SGP), size 29mm (without crown), Lug to Lug: 34mm, Lug Width: 17mm, Thickness: 5mm. \- Minimal gold dial, classic stick hands with stick hours markers. All have consistent gold tone color. **CONDITION:** The watch is very well preserved for its age (See Photos). No obvious sign of wear. The original movement works well (caliber 6030 is a high grade analog quartz watch movement with accuracy ±15 seconds/month). Recommend to avoid getting wet for vintage watch. The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house. This includes not only major items such as microgears, motors, hands, crystal oscillators, batteries, sensors, LCDs but also minor items such as the oils used in lubricating the watches and the luminous compounds used on the hands and the dials.
