Up for sale is a funky vintage mechanical alarm watch with a groovy 70s design and color scheme. Freshly serviced, nice amplitude/timekeeping and even passes a 30M water resistance test! Includes a couple of extra bracelet links. It’s in great shape, just making room in my watch box. **Size:** 39mm, 19mm lug width **Movement:** Seiko 4006 Automatic only, 17 jewel, 19800 bph **Water Resistance:** at least 30m (water tested) **Location:** U.S. / New England **Production Date:** December 1972 **Features:** *Mechanical Alarm:* The Seiko Bell-Matic series has a beautifully engineered mechanical alarm, a complication made famous by watches like the Vulcain Cricket or JLC Memovox. The watch has two mainsprings, one for the timekeeping and one for the alarm. The timekeeping mainspring is wound automatic-only, and works using the very efficient Seiko Magic Lever system. The alarm mainspring is wound via the crown, and the alarm time is set using the crown. There is a pusher which turns the alarm function on or off. The alarm is noticeable but not too loud, and has a nice bell tone (see video). The alarm indicator ring is set exactly correct down to the minute. Comes on a very 70s pressure clasp bracelet with two spare links, should fit any wrist size. Some scratches and dings on case and bracelet consistent with a 53 y/o vintage watch.
