Today I have for sale this lovely jumbo Seamaster Automatic Chronometre ref. 2494 from the early 1950's

The attractive two-tone cream dial has rose gold dagger and Arabic indices and rose gold dauphine hands. It has developed a nice warm patina which is the characteristic that caught my eye when I originally bought it.

The 36mm steel screw back case is in very good shape with strong lugs and a good bezel. These wear substantially larger on the wrist when compared to the more common 34.5mm references of the time. The crown is the bowler hat type and period correct with the thin logo.

The case back is in very good condition and double signed 2494 and 2657.

Running a chronometer rated calibre 354 with a serial number of 13.6 million it dates to around 1951 or so. It is winding and setting very smoothly and keeping good time although it hasn’t been serviced in my ownership.

I’m selling this one head only but can fit a brown or black leather strap if so required.

€1495 net to me will include worldwide Track & Trace shipping. Payment by bank transfer or PayPal for well established forum members only.

Any question?...Just ask 😀
