Hello,

I am selling an automatic watch from the Japanese brand Seiko:

Sober and dressed model.
Nice datejust look with its fluted bezel.
Idem Seiko 5 SNXJ (SNXJ89, SNXJ90, SNXJ92, …).

CONDITION:

The watch is in very good condition / superbly well preserved for its age (see photos).
The bracelet is in good condition with normal signs of use (see photos).
The glass has no scratches.

WORKING ORDER:

The movement works well: starts immediately, keeps time (drift less than 25 s. / 24 hours), day and date change without any problem.
The movement is equipped with the day and the quick date.
No manual winding with the crown.

OTHER:

No trace of oxidation.
The watch, apart from its strap, is entirely original.
The strap is nevertheless a genuine Seiko strap (Ref. 4719-Z.E from a 7N43-9070) and it fits it perfectly.
It is currently set for a 16.5 / 17 cm wrist, knowing that I have 2 additional links (+ 2.4 cm) as well as 2 fine adjustment holes at the folding clasp (+ 7 mm), allowing it to be enlarged by a further + 3.1 cm in total.
The folding clasp has 5 holes, spaced 3.5 mm apart, for optimum adjustment.

The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house. This includes not only major items such as microgears, motors, hands, crystal oscillators, batteries, sensors, LCDs but also minor items such as the oils used in lubricating the watches and the luminous compounds used on the hands and the dials.
