Hey folks Up for grabs today is one of the darlings of the AT collection, the original WorldTimer with the blue Dial. This example comes with either the bracelet and rubber strap on deployant. The watch is in near mint condition with barely any signs of wear (few to the bezel) This model is as useful as it is stylish and uncommon. You could find yourself shelling over 12k for an Explorer 2 or over 20k for a GMT master 2, while the world timer puts them both to shame with a more useful world timer function that showcases multiple timezones at a glance and comes with the best in business rubber strap and steel bracelet for added versatility. The dial truly is the star of the show, with globe like striations and a 24 hour glass ring accompanied by a laser ablated titanium plate that showcases the earth and its continents. The attention to detail on these pieces screams luxury and are hard to beat in terms of functionality. The watch is dated 2021 with warranty until 2026. Founded at La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland in 1848 by 23-year-old Louis Brandt who assembled key-wound precision pocket watches from parts supplied by local craftsmen. He travelled throughout Europe selling his watches from Italy to Scandinavia by way of England, his chief market. After Louis Brandt's death in 1879, his two sons Louis-Paul and Cesar, troubled by irregular deliveries of questionable quality, abandoned the unsatisfactory assembly workshop system in favour of in-house manufacturing and total production control. Due to the greater supply of manpower, communications and energy in Bienne, the enterprise moved into a small factory in January 1880, then bought the entire building in December. Two years later the company moved into a converted spinning-factory in the Gurzelen district of Bienne, where headquarters are still situated today. Their first series-produced calibres, Labrador and Gurzelen, as well as, the famous Omega calibre of 1894, would ensure the brand's marketing success.
