# SBGR073 Video: [https://imgur.com/a/6VQGLAs](https://imgur.com/a/6VQGLAs) Selling this very nice Grand Seiko, a hard to find reference SBGR073 from the Heritage Collection. This utilizes Grand Seikos 9S65 automatic movement in a classic Heritage case measuring 37mm wide, with a 44.6mm lug to lug, and 19mm lug width. The dial on this is a fantastic navy blue with sunburst brushed pattern on it, with the red-tipped seconds hand, quarter-seconds markers, and small 5-minute markers giving it a more distinctive look. Case is good with signs of wear but presents very nicely on the wrist. The movement is in excellent running condition and shows +0 seconds per day face up on my timegrapher, with good amplitude and very low beat error. The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house.
