Hey Reddit, I am selling my limited edition 55th anniversary Grand Seiko SBGW289. This piece is a great everyday watch, at a great 36.5mm size, 100m water resistance, stainless steel bracelet, and 70 hours of power reserve. The sakura kakushi dial is a subtle hue which ranges from silver to pink depending on the lighting. The 44gs case is a work of art, especially with at this size. This piece is also very versatile as it is a strap monster. This piece was purchased on November 2022, and has been well cared for since. There are a few hairlines on case, and some scratches on bracelet, but the zaratsu polish is well maintained. The watch has recently come back from service for running a little bit out of spec. It is now running within spec. Service papers will be included with purchase. This is a full set with box and papers. Can also come with the Keepiece strap in pictures on request. The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house. This includes not only major items such as microgears, motors, hands, crystal oscillators, batteries, sensors, LCDs but also minor items such as the oils used in lubricating the watches and the luminous compounds used on the hands and the dials.
