Good evening, WatchEx! Second of two tonight: The timeless Tudor 1926 Opaline in 39mm. One of the most accessible entry-level luxury watches available, the Tudor 1926 offers elite finishes and vintage charm at a very reasonable price point. The Rolex inspiration is ever-present in the case design - almost like a flattened OP. Also present, excellent finishing, one of the more comfortable bracelets you'll find in a dressier watch, and blued Arabic numerals that are subtle in low-light, and electric once the sun hits it. A perfect summery dial in a capable case - this has a 100m water resistance rating and a screw down crown. Comparing this to other options in this price range, I don't think anything else comes close. I love a good Oris Big Crown Pointer Date as much as the next person, but there's no shot I'd take even a limited edition over this 1926. Nomos also comes to mind - while there's always room for a German in my watch box, the 1926's dimensions are so perfectly balanced, it's an easy decision in my book to go with the more practical, classic design of this gorgeous opaline beauty.
