An iconic vintage “Red” Alpinist, released in 1995. The Green design is particularly well known thanks to the continued popularity of its modern counterpart; the SARB017. **Model**: 4S15-6000, SCVF009, “Red Alpinist” **Production Year**: February 1995 **Video**: [Click here to see a video of the watch in action](https://www.instagram.com/p/C8ZFmx8oc2-/) **Features**: ***- The Movement***. Released in 1995, the SCVF009 Green "Red" Alpinist uses Seiko’s famous 4S15 “Hi-Beat” movement (28800 bph), resulting in silky smooth second-hand. It's a historically important movement for Seiko, as it found its way into many of Seiko’s turn-of-the-century big hitters like these Alpinists, the King Seiko reissue, the Brightz line, and the Laurel reissue. Sadly, the recent Alpinists use a more basic movement. ***- Alpinist***. Designed to be used as outdoor watches by Japanese mountain climbers, the Alpinist series started in the 1960s with the release of the Seiko “Laurel” Alpinist. The most recent Alpinists are part of Seiko’s “Prospex” (professional specifications) collection, as they continue the tradition of being tough and rugged. ***- The Bezel***. Now a feature of all Alpinists, it can be used to determine North if you can see the Sun. Works very smoothly, with no binding/sticking and no loss of colour due to aging. ***- The Strap***. Aftermarket. Not the original leather strap. **Condition**: The watch is in good condition overall. The crystal, cyclops, and dial are in great condition. The case and case back have lots of hairline scratches and bump marks. The photos highlight the condition of the metal clearly. It definitely has definitely been worn as a the sports watch that it was meant to be! The movement has been regulated to +6 seconds per day across three positions. The leather strap is not the original leather strap. **Scope**: No box or papers, so it will be packed in a secure leather travel case. **Movement**: 4S15 automatic 28800bhp **Case Width**: 38mm **Lug to lug:** 43mm **Case Thickness**: 10.5mm **Lug width:** 19mm **Price**: Offered at **$1550** plus shipping (sent from Japan; costs $5-$35 depending on where you are in the world). I accept Wise, Paypal and Bank Transfer, depending on your transaction history. Fees paid by you where applicable. **Of note**: Nothing to report [Album](https://imgur.com/a/08BiImd) [Proof](https://imgur.com/a/Y4slGzw)
