Good evening, WatchEx! First up today, a favorite of mine: the Fears Brunswick Salmon in 38mm, with exceedingly rare sapphire caseback, rare movement finishing, and some additional straps. Some of you may have seen the purple Fears Platinum Jubilee I listed a couple of weeks back, or the other Brunswick 38 in salmon a few months ago - my praise for Fears knows no bounds. My long-time daily wearer is a Sinn 356 Flieger II (copper guilloche dial), and with a pretty limited number of "keepers", I'm not sure I *need* another salmon/copper dial. Throwing this up and leaving my decision in the hands of you, the potential buyer. Enough rambling - onto the good stuff. There's not a lot I can say that the photos won't tell you about how beautiful this watch is, so I'll try to keep this brief. I'm a huge fan of how this is out together - the raised Arabic numerals are absolutely perfect with this type of watch. Fears' unique eye-dropper hands are a dynamic blued tone, that can appear black in the right [absence of] lighting. The numerals have a similar quality - a deep anthracite in normal lighting, and a lighter silver in direct light. Fears and I share an ideology on watch straps as well - your watch is composed of roughly 2/3 strap, so why settle for anything but the best? The leather strap included with this watch suits it *perfectly.* They source their leather from a family-run atelier in Belgium - check 'em out [here. ($135 retail)](https://www.fearswatches.com/en-us/collections/hand-made-goat-leather-watch-straps/products/bristol-black-watch-strap) It's fits like a glove on my 6.75-7" wrist - Fears will tell you that there's not a flat surface on the watch, and it was designed to contour to a wrist, rather than be an uninspiring flat slab of steel. I seriously cannot praise this design enough. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner/director of Fears (Nicholas Bowman-Scargill) at a RedBar meetup in Portland a few weeks back, and I can genuinely say he is the best person I've met in the industry. His passion and love for watches and Fears are unparalleled. Nicholas rejuvenated the Fears brand a short seven years ago, after the brand had laid dormant for 36 years. His great-great-great grandfather, Edwin Fear, started the brand and had a very successful run, passing the company down two generations before closing up shop in the 70's. Their modern lineup pays great respect to their original watches - but with a modern flair and attention to detail you don't often see within this price bracket. I'll cut my lecture on Fears' horological significance and brand heritage there (I could truly go on for hours,) but I'd highly encourage you to take a look at them if you've got a few minutes to burn: [Fears Heritage](https://www.fearswatches.com/en-us/pages/heritage) Quick Specs: - Reference: Brunswick 38 Salmon - Stainless Steel Case - Sapphire Caseback, rare gold pipette applique (no longer available) - Horizontal Côtes de Genève movement finishing - accord to the brand owner, this was only done on a few movements as a "test" before settling in 45° finishing. Fun little rarity. - 38mm Case - 10.7mm Thin - 20mm Lug Width - 10atm/100m Water Resistance - Sapphire Crystal - Movement: ETA 7001 Handwound - Complete set, card dated 12/2022 - Includes an invitation to the Fears Owners Club - exclusive watch offerings, sales, straps, info, etc. - Excellent condition, no noticable marks. Fears strap is very gently worn, others pictures are included and brand new. All straps are a standard/M length and will accommodate wrists up to 8.5". [Timestamp](https://imgur.com/a/21ekpeP) [Album](https://imgur.com/a/h5z4Yah) [Retail Link](https://www.fearswatches.com/en-us/collections/the-brunswick-collection/products/brunswick-salmon) I'm asking for a loosely negotiable $2,599 ~~$2,799~~, roughly $1,200 lower than direct from Fears, if you're considering import/taxes. You can request a sapphire caseback if ordering direct from Fears, but the gold pipette is a thing of the past according to Fears. Price is shipped/insured within the US (UPS 2-Day or FedEx Express if you prefer, buyer adds $30 for overnight), international shipping available at buyer's expense (typically not more than $50.) Zelle preferred, PP F&F or wire are also accepted. Tons of refs on here, hundreds more on various reputable watch groups on Facebook. Sale heavily preferred, will consider trades around the $3k mark. Selling to fund another Fears model. Thanks for looking - Cheers!
