Very rare dial. This champagne shantung serti dial is one of the earliest examples of the serti setting that would eventually replace prong set diamonds, it also includes tritium markers. 'Shantung' refers to the pattern on the dial which resembles fabric instead of the starburst pattern on plain champagne dials. The original Rolex warranty papers provide a clear pedigree for this unusual dial.
