[WTS] 1969s Accutron Astronaut Day/ Night FULLY SERVICED
Hi, watch lovers, for your consideration today is a historical watch piece, this is the 1960s-1970s Accutron Astronaut Day/Night. This Accutron with the distinctive Day/Night Bezel is more sought after than its stainless counterpart, to add even more of a cherry on top; this specific example houses the Spear indices Dial which are rarer than the standard dial as shown here: [https://imgur.com/a/nCHuz7E](https://imgur.com/a/nCHuz7E) ; The condition of this very example may also be one of the nicest example out there; don’t just take my words for it, Rob Berkavicius who many considered to be the best Accutron Tuning Fork Specialist who serviced this watch 2 months ago said and I quoted “This would be the nicest Day/Night astro I have ever seen.” as shown here: [https://imgur.com/a/XS30v8y](https://imgur.com/a/XS30v8y) And yes that is right, this watch had just been fully serviced and probably would not need another service for a really loooooong time. Accessories: The watch comes with its ORIGINALL fully linked Accutron JB Champion Stainless Steel Bullet link Bracelet and an Aftermarket Black/ White French Marine Parachute Strap. Caseback: M9 (which I believes dates the watch to around 1969) Functionality/ Service History: The Watch is running strong (again had just been fully serviced by Rob Berkavicius); Rob Berkavicius also installed a plastic spacer for the batteries to reducing the volt of modern battery to the correct volt so the Accutron Tuning Fork Calibre 214 can run accurately. When it comes time for new batteries, simply just take the spacer out of the old battery and right into the new battery (a 387S or a 394) it’s that EASY! Condition: The Watch appears to have never been polished, one noticeable scratch on Bezel at the 8 Night mark, a dent near 8 Day mark, the Lume STILL GLOWS! Although not for a long time, the Dial is very clean looks as if it’s never been tampered with, ALL Lume Pips still intact! (If you do a quick online search, most Day/ Night examples you will see either have one of more issues like some Hands/Indices rusting, Lume pips falling off.. or DEEP scratches throughout the Bezel/Crystal ) Size: 39mm in Diameter, 40mm Lug to Lug Movement: Accutron Tuning Fork Calibre 214 Price: Asking a negotiable $3,300 shipped via Bank Wire, Zelle or Venmo. Also happy to meet face to face locally I am from NYC (Manhattan to be specific)
