The Seiko SPB395 is a Limited Edition release from Seiko well-known Presage Craftsmanship series. The release was timed for the 110th anniversary of the brand’s first watch. Within the Presage line, the Craftsmanship series features dial techniques that are normally reserved for high-end pieces. This particular model utilizes Urushi lacquer on the dial. Urushi Lacquerware is world-renowned, and in many ways is emblematic of traditional Japanese handiwork. The process is done by hand through many hours of application, and results in a smooth finish that has a mirror-like depth. The city of Kanazawa is particularly known for its Urushi Lacquerware. Master artisan, Isshu Tamura, is responsible for the craft of these unique lacquer dials. The watch comes with the original and beautiful wooden box and papers.
