For sale today is my Seiko Quartz Superior 3883 7000. This is the lesser known brother of the 3883 7000 "Morpho." The only difference between the two watches is the dial. The quartz superior line is the highest end line of quartz seikos in the mid 70s. Most of them feature a hardened stainless steel case, top of the line finishing, sapphire crystal, and fully applied dials with individually applied minute markers. Out of all of the quartz superior references, the 3883 7000 has the tallest and widest high polished hour markers and among the most complicated case geometry. Seiko went all out on these watches and they remain (imo) the best finished watches in the price range. Considering that upon release the 3883 7000 cost 220000 yen, which was enough to buy a small sedan, it only makes sense Seiko used the highest quality methods and material. Ironically, the Morpho version of 3883 7000 costs the exact same when released, but is much more desirable today. This particular example is in absolutely fantastic condition. The watch only has minor scratches on its high polished surfaces. There are no major stains or scratches on the dial. I can't find any scratches on the sapphire crystal and there are no chips around the edges. I don't think any collector will be unhappy with the condition this piece is in. The piece was serviced around a year ago prior to my possession. A new cell was installed in the summer of 2023. I consider this piece a crown jewel of my collection, but unfortunately I'm undergoing some changes with my collection so it has to go. I am asking $1200 shipped CONUS for this piece.
