Up for sale is a rare King Seiko Special 5246-6000 Chronometer Certified, beautiful linen dial scripted “Special”, with 28800bph and was made in September 1971. A good improvement from the 5606 which has a crappy plastic day/date wheel and 21600bph. The 52KS series would be the last of the King Seikos ever produced, and understanding that, Seiko’s Daini division decided these final pieces would be something “special.”  Regarded as one of the finest movements Seiko was capable of at the time, the 52KS was even branded as “Special” on the dial, along with a chronometer designation for the production years of 1971 and ‘72. 1973 saw the movement change from the 5245 and 46 to the 5256 on KS Vanac and the chronometer label dropped. The particular movement 5246 is one of the last high-end automatic watch movement from Daini Seikosha before Quarzt revolution and later recantation by Seiko as 4S movement in 1992.
