Vintage original Oris 65 Star Diver on original signed BoR bracelet.
Up for grabs is an amazing original Oris 65 Star Diver - powered by Oris 25 jewel automatic cal. 645KIF - fitted on a super rare original Oris signed beads of rice bracelet with fitted ends.
The Oris Star by all accounts was the superior watch in the diver line-up with its full steel case and automatic movement vs. its earlier brother, the Oris Super. (The Oris Super had a chromed case, and manual pin-lever 654 caliber. )
The proportions on these watches are perfectly balanced, and represent the quintessential dive watch. No nonsense dial and hands set against a classic divers bezel. At 36.5mm, they wear beautifully.
This particular example is all original as far as I can tell. The lume has turned to a creamy pale yellow hue. The piece shows normal signs of wear for one its age. The bi-directional bezel turns freely and the signed crown winds and sets smoothly. While the case back is worn, the engraving is still legible. The watch is currently running well and keeping good time. I do not know service history, and unfortunately cannot open the case back as I don’t have a proper tool to close it, and don’t want to damage it. Overall, this is in great vintage condition and ready to wear. Including plenty of pictures to view below.
