Up on the block today is something that pains me to let go, but I need to make room in my collection for an upcoming purchase. Available now is my Seiko 7a28-702a Quartz Chronograph. This watch was produced in March 1983 and needs no introduction among Seiko fans as it is recognized as being the world’s first analog quartz chronograph watch. To say they got it right is an understatement. Solid construction, “fly by wire” circuitry, and a hefty 15 jewels make for a finely tuned machine that can be adjusted to dial in performance and allows for the replacement of worn components. Known as the “Black Bond”, this lesser seen variant is the inverse color way of the white dial version featured in the James Bond film, “A View To A Kill.”  These are getting harder and harder to come by as of late and I can personally say I have not seen another 702a in better condition. The original hardlex crystal was replaced with a sapphire crystal when I bought the watch which makes the dial really pop. The watch and bracelet are in unpolished condition and show minimal damage aside from normal wear and tear consistent with a 40-year-old watch. It keeps great time and the battery was replaced recently. All chronograph functions reset and return to their positions perfectly. I have owned this watch for the past 7 years or so and it has been a staple in my collection. It comes on the original bracelet with all links including a 8 position adjustable folding clasp. It fits my 7.25” wrist comfortably with room to spare. This watch gives Speedmaster vibes without the hefty price or size. Based on the condition of the watch and recent sales, I am looking to get **$800/OBO** for this watch.
