But what really sets off the Lapis Lazuli over any other stone is the other materials that are embedded in the stone from the metamorphic process of its creation.  The white clouds throughout are crystallized calcite, and the flecks of gold are pyrite. This particular example has more pyrite than I’ve ever seen in a dial, giving it a much more golden sheen.
