Up for sale is one I’ll surely regret selling but that just doesn’t get enough wrist time. It’s a very uncommon jumbo sized Omega cursive text Geneve with a nicely patinated two-tone textured dial and stunning pink/rose gold accents. These cursive Geneves were Omega’s top-of-the-line manual wind watches in the ‘50s, and relatively few came in this very wearable 36mm case size. The watch is fully original as far as I can tell, including the signed crystal. See below for full info, and feel free to message me with any questions.

Dial: Original, non-refinished two-tone honeycomb dial features pink/rose gold markers and hands. The inner portion of the dial has developed an even, attractive patina that paired with the accents make it absolutely stunning.

Case: Original jumbo-size 36mm stainless steel 2748 reference is in nice, unpolished condition. Bevels on the bezel and lugs and brushing on the caseback are still clear.

Crown: Original signed crown.

Movement: Original 266 caliber movement runs, winds, and sets well, however it is running very slow and so a service/adjustment is recommended. Serial number dates the watch to 1955.

Crystal: Original signed crystal (Omega logo etched in center).

Strap: Comes on the light brown Hodinkee strap pictured.

Founded at La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland in 1848 by 23-year-old Louis Brandt who assembled key-wound precision pocket watches from parts supplied by local craftsmen. He travelled throughout Europe selling his watches from Italy to Scandinavia by way of England, his chief market. After Louis Brandt's death in 1879, his two sons Louis-Paul and Cesar, troubled by irregular deliveries of questionable quality, abandoned the unsatisfactory assembly workshop system in favour of in-house manufacturing and total production control. Due to the greater supply of manpower, communications and energy in Bienne, the enterprise moved into a small factory in January 1880, then bought the entire building in December. Two years later the company moved into a converted spinning-factory in the Gurzelen district of Bienne, where headquarters are still situated today. Their first series-produced calibres, Labrador and Gurzelen, as well as, the famous Omega calibre of 1894, would ensure the brand's marketing success.
