Hard not to love a blue dial Rolex Datejust (I mean you can try but then you also have to hate on ice cream and puppies and all of life’s other delights…) there’s just something about the pop of the blue Sunburst dial, and this is a fantastic five digit example on a Rolex oyster bracelet making for the PERFECT daily! REF: 16220 SERIAL: L311XXX YEAR: 1989 DIAL: Just hard to beat! Goes from an understated dark blue to a bright Sunburst in the light, just awesome! And as you can see even under macro, a speck of dust here or there but just a fantastic example across the board! CRYSTAL: Being from the late 1980s you get sapphire crystal - under a loupe at the right angle can see a few light marks but all in looks great, showing off that beautiful dial perfectly! CASE: 36MM stainless case with that awesome stainless engine turned bezel adding some great industrial design! Beautiful thick lugs with great brushing, very sharp! Light wear throughout, as expected, but about as clean as they come! MOVEMENT: Service history unknown, but the Rolex automatic is running beautifully - winding smoothly, setting perfectly, quick set date is perfect, and timegrapher numbers are stellar at 6 seconds a day with an amplitude of 304! BRACELET: Comes on a full sized Rolex oyster bracelet that can fit up to about 8 inches. Not only is it very cool to see the engine turned bezel paired with an oyster bracelet, but these 20MM oyster bracelets are getting extremely expensive as people are looking to pair them with their neo vintage GMT, so adding a lot of value here! Light wear, mostly seen on the clasp as expected, but all in looks great! ACCESSORIES: Watch on bracelet only.
